Trust Falls and Rises

For four days in late October 2009, Bon Secours Volunteers retreated from their daily work to focus on developing community. The retreat began with a day of experiential learning at Genesee Valley and continued with three days of meditation and discussion on how we are present to others, self, and God. For much of the retreat, learning revolved around how we build trust with others, within ourselves, and with God. Co-facilitated by multiple people as well as by the volunteers, the retreat highlighted how much the community had grown in two months and the possibilities for deep growth throughout the year. Several facilitators were invigorated by the volunteers’ insights and commitment to community.
