Where We Serve
Welcome to the Sisters of Bon Secours in the Democratic Republic of the Congo (DRC). This is our newest community, and we are pleased to grow our mission in Africa.
In 2019, the Sisters of Bon Secours were called to form a community in the DRC. This new community initiative was enthusiastically supported by all the Sisters of Bon Secours. Delayed by COVID-19, the first sisters settled in Kinshasa, the capital of the DRC in 2021. They were welcomed by the Jesuits in Central Africa and by several interested young women. These women soon formed a live-in community and participated in a vocation discernment process.
Our ministry is quickly growing as we begin serving the people of the DRC. Our sisters live in community with interested women learning about Bon Secours, tending a large vegetable garden and working in the neighboring community sharing the healing ministry of Jesus Christ.
